Welcome Everyone to The Rotary Club of Fullerton.
I am truly excited and honored to have the opportunity to lead our historic Club into it’s 95th year.
I am excited because today our club is comprised of not just existing well established leaders in our Fullerton community but a new mix of many of its younger emerging leaders as well. We are as vibrant and relevant as ever and embracing the changing world around us and opportunities it brings for us to truly make a difference.
We are deeply engaged in the betterment of our community and world. Each year we not only host regular annual events ranging from free health care clinics to events assisting our Fullerton School’s and our Seniors and other and other citizens in need, but we also partner with an impressive list of other local and international organizations and clubs to support their causes which are in turn helping others in our society. Our one event, The Rotary Jog-A-Thon alone raises about 75K a year and supports not only local school clubs, but the eradication of Polio in the world.
The great part about our club, is we have a lot of fun doing all this. Our wonderful fellowship and camaraderie is the cornerstone of what makes our weekly meetings and socials so special.
I am proud to say our club is leading the way with developing the Rotarians of tomorrow, by having formed strong youth clubs, starting with Interact in our local high schools, Rotaract at the University of Cal-State Fullerton and our RYPEN young professionals club for those who are at the early stages of their careers.
My slogan for this year is “We Give A Hoot” and by that I mean we really care about each other and those in our community and world where we can make a difference.
I invite you to come join us for a lunch at our new home at the Fullerton Elk’s Lodge at noon on Wednesday’s and listen to some great programs, and get to know some great community leaders better who are making things happen.
I am sure you’ll be glad you did.
Yours in Rotary,
Fullerton Rotary President 2016-17
